Create news items (add a typed page)

  • login
  • in tools choose "add a article"
  • select group : "news" or "policy" (extranet: "meeting" or "policies")
  • select the model (possibly only one)
  • create the page
  • edit the content
  • choose taxonomy (choose taxonomy : "Headlines" for put the policy on the top in the Headlines section)
  • publish
  • publish a "priority news" : go on page property : "SEO Weight" -> "high priority", so the page will priority in term of SEO and the page will be always on the top of the list.

Publication flow

If we activate "website portal", publication takes place in a "validation flow".

the pages then have 4 states:

  1. modified (in red): the page has been modified, we are working on it.
  2. validated (yellow): the page is ready, it needs to be validated.
  3. ready (green): the page is validated and will be published the next time it is published.
  4. live (grey): the page is online.

The status can be changed using the status change button.

rmq: publication publishes all validated pages, whereas other status changes are only made on the current page.

User rights can be modified so that certain users cannot perform certain steps, for example, only one user can publish validated pages or only certain users can validate pages.  Please note that this type of process makes publication much more cumbersome.

In the navigation, a coloured border indicates the status of child pages.  For example, if a page has a red border on the left, this means that there is a modified page in its child pages.

For display download links to imported files : add "file-list" component in your page.  By exemple in side bar.

Add survey (or any PDF)

  1. go on edit mode
  2. go in resoureces tab > select files > folder "survey"
  3. drap&drop you file
  4. edit the meta data
  5. publish

Protect page access (exemple ExCom)

To give access to a page only to certain users (ExCom for example).   Place the users you want in this group:

  1. tools > Users
  2. click on the user
  3. at the bottom of the page: Roles

Then go to the page.

  1. "page properties" (page name at top left)
  2. "View roles", select only the group concerned (no others)
